Perry Benipal is a founding partner of Freedman Benipal Wu LLP and a litigator whose practice centres on mortgage enforcement, power of sale, and foreclosure, and the recovery of secured debt for lenders. He represents mortgagees and private lenders in possession proceedings and writs of possession, summary judgment motions, injunctions, and contested disputes over mortgage validity, priority, and alleged fraud — the full range of issues that arise when a secured loan goes into default.
Perry appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. His reported decisions span complex commercial and residential mortgage enforcement, fraudulent-conveyance and fraud claims, Mareva injunctions, certificates of pending litigation, and estate-related disputes.
Perry’s practice is not limited to litigation. He also acts on residential and commercial real estate transactions — purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinancing — as well as corporate and commercial matters for entrepreneurs and investors, so clients can rely on him whether they are closing a deal or enforcing on one. Before co-founding the firm in 2026, Perry practised litigation at a Toronto firm and built a foundation in real estate practice earlier in his career.
